Synopsis:

Brief Synopsis (1
58 words)
“Tell me about the girl”.  The words fill the room, ringing in Mark’s ears, probing his
consciousness, bringing with them a flood of horrible memories.  24 hours ago, he was on
the set of his third film.  Then, something goes horribly wrong.  The pressures of fame,
complicated by the recent suicide of a teenage fan, brings it all into focus.  He’s a sham, a
phony, just another fake.

Now he’s on the road, trying to make sense of it all.  Looking for redemption, he loses his
way.  He’s got to make this pain stop.  But who can help? How about the girl who caused it
all?   Her name is Karen, and it’s been years since she walked out the door.

There’s a price to pay for fame.  And a price to pay for love.  Mark is prepared to go all the
way to set things right.  To even the score.  But is Karen?

Long Synopsis (3
10 words)
from n
ews wire sources
(April 30, 2009) Boulder , Colorado- Mark Parker never wanted to be spokesman for a
generation.  Anybody who did would never have become one.   It’s not a role you
campaign for: it’s thrust upon you, and you live with it.  Or don’t.  Parker may have rejected
the label, but looking at the thousands of weeping and stunned fans gathered outside of
Mercy Hospital this evening, it becomes clear that that’s exactly what he is. An Icon.  The
27-year old actor and director was rushed here just one hour ago with what police are
calling a severe gunshot wound suffered in the home of local artist Karen Cooper.  'Blood
everywhere,'  said the EMT who brought him in. 'Just a bloody mess.'  One young fan,
wiping tears from her eyes said, “I just want to know what happened…they won’t tell us
anything!'

Another put it this way.  “We’re here because we love Mark.   His movies always capture
exactly how you felt before you even knew you felt it   He’s our voice.   He’s a misfit, just
like us, and he made it.  I can’t believe this happened.”

Rumors have been swirling around the troubled star since his disappearance 24 hours ago
from the set of his latest film, “The Modern World”.  Parker is perhaps best remembered as
a two time Academy Award winner for his films, “Checkmate” and “Idols of the Mind”, and is
considered one of Hollywood ’s rising young stars.  Ironically, this tragedy comes less than
a day after the funeral of a Pasadena area teen whose suicide last week was viewed as a
copycat of Parker’s character in “The Midnight Rambler”.   Inside, doctors are working into
the night to save his life.  Outside, Parker, born Dean Parker in Stoughton , Massachusetts
, has the prayers of his generation.
